We’ve discovered that a cheap Lidl own-brand chocolate bar tastes exactly the same as a beloved Nestle favourite.
The Mister Choc Bubbly Milk Chocolate bar from the Germany retailer has an identical taste to the Aero bar from Nestle, the world's largest food and drink company.
So if you have a sweet tooth, this delicious chocolate bar will definitely fulfil your needs with its mouth melting cocoa sweetness.
Although both chocolate bars taste exactly the same, there are still are a few differences that we still noticed between them both. These range from the texture, the ability to share, to the overall value of the products.
Lidl own brand
This chocolate bar costs 99 cents which is great value if you ask us.
The Fairtrade cocoa product is a lot harder compared to the Aero bar, making it more difficult to break up the squares if you want to share the chocolate.
With the chocolate bar just being one big bar, it makes it more difficult to space out your consumption as you should probably eat it as soon as possible once it’s opened.
Aero bar
The original Aero was on sale for €1.50 in Tesco, making it more or less the same value as the Lidl brand, but at the original price of €2.65, you’d be saving money by choosing the Lidl alternative if it didn't have a discounted price.
But this bar is light, soft, smooth and bubbly. It came in a multipack of four, making it easier to share with friends, or consume without the pressure of having to eat it once it’s opened.
Overall, if we were picking a product today, we would choose the Aero bar which was on sale as it's easier to share. But if it wasn’t cheaper than normal we’d choose the Lidl bar.
