Che Adams has provided an update on his illness following fears the Scotland frontman could miss Tuesday's Nations League clash with Ukraine.
The Southampton striker has played down concerns, insisting he is fit and ready to go ahead as the Tartan Army make their way to Poland. The 26-year-old is likely to lead the line for Steve Clarke 's men after fellow frontman Lyndon Dykes missed training through illness. The Scotland boss previously explained that Adams was also struggling with the same problem. However, when facing the media on Monday the Premier League player said he was feeling great.
Adams was on the bench for the win against Republic of Ireland at Hampden on Saturday, coming on late in the second half. But the striker it targeting a return to the starting XI on the road this Tuesday. He admits that the virus did take it out of him a bit, but he was back in the training pitch on Monday and is confident he can help Scotland put on a 'massive performance' as they look to secure top spot in Nations League Group B1.
He said: "I feel great. I trained this morning and feeling better. It’s one of those ones we have to get through and put a massive performance I’m tough, I can play. If it was any worse I couldn’t but I’m fit and ready to go."
