Che Adams among five Southampton players who could be absent for West Ham Premier League fixture

Southampton could be without five of their first-team players for their Premier League match against West Ham United on Sunday.

The Hammers host Saints at the London Stadium with both sides eyeing a win as they look to move out of the Premier League’s relegation zone. West Ham sit 18th and a point off safety, while Saints are bottom and two points shy of moving out of the bottom three.

Going into the match, Hampshire Live has reported that Ruben Selles’ side have five injury concerns ahead of travelling to east London.

Striker Che Adams is a doubt for the game, having withdrawn from Scotland’s national team squad ahead of their 2-0 win over Spain on Tuesday night due to a calf injury.

Centre-back Mohammed Salisu may also miss out having not been part of the Ghana squad to face Angola on Monday, while fellow centre-back Armel Bella-Kotchap is also unlikely to feature after dislocating his shoulder prior to the international break.

Full-backs Tino Livramento and Juan Larios could also miss out following long-term injury lay-offs. Livramento has suffered multiple setbacks on his recovery from a long-term knee injury, while Larios is also short on match fitness, despite recently returning for Saints’ B team.

For West Ham, it will be their first match for 17 days and they could welcome back all three of the injury concerns they had going into the international break.

Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski had not played since the end of February after fracturing his cheek-bone and eye-socket, while right-back Vladimir Coufal had also been absent since the same game with a heel injury. Ex-Saints forward Michail Antonio had also been briefly absent going into the break with a calf issue.

However, all three could return against Saints, with Coufal playing twice for Czech Republic during the break, while Antonio and Fabianski have both been pictured back in training.
