ChatGPT was down — live updates on short outage

It appears that there was an issue with ChatGPT and other OpenAI services, as users flocked to Down Detector to report problems. This is unfortunate, as many people rely on ChatGPT to speed up workflows and work more efficiently.

We covered the ChatGPT outage live and investigated the cause. We found answers to the issue on OpenAI's status page, and it appears that the company's mitigation was able to resolve the problem fairly quickly.
