Cybersecurity companies are sounding the alarm over OpenAI's chatbot ChatGPT, saying it's making it easier than ever for budding criminals to write malware and create phishing attacks. A report by cybersecurity firm Check Point reveals that users of underground forums are already sharing tips and snippets of code on how to use ChatGPT to build ransomware. FRANCE 24's Tech Editor Peter O'Brien tells us more.
Sergey Shykevich, Manager of Threat Intelligence at Check Point, compared the quality of the code written by ChatGPT to "Google Translate", saying it wasn't perfect, but that users need only basic computer skills to harness it for cybercrime.
OpenAI did not respond to a request for comment.
