Chasers nightclub in Kingswood to reopen this year as original owners return

It's the news that we've all been waiting for. Chasers nightclub in Kingswood is set to reopen this summer, which means the return of sticky floors, throwback tunes and cheap jägerbombs.

After 16 years, the original owners of the legendary venue are returning to give it a "new future." It comes three months after Chasers announced it would be closing its doors for the foreseeable future having been forced to shut for months due to Covid.

The nightclub confirmed the news on Facebook today (March 29) to the joy of locals. It said: "Chasers is happy to announce the return of the original owners.

"After 16 years away we are excited to reinvest in our community and bring Chasers into a new generation. We wish to thank everyone for their interest and care for the future of the business.

"Chasers will continue to be Kingswood's largest music venue. We can't wait to see you all in the summer and celebrate a new future."

The huge news has been well-received amongst clubgoers, who "can't wait" to get back on the dancefloor. Shannon commented: "Our weekends are sorted again," while Chris said: "Just when we thought all hope was lost."

The club, and its associated bar The Chase Inn, was closed for 16 months from March 2020 until late July last year, when it reopened having just been refurbished. It remained open until January of this year.

The owners said at the time: "We regret Chasers will not be reopening in the near future. We will be working hard and investing in the building to offer a better experience moving forward, this cannot happen overnight but will be a gradual move into a new future."

Chasers has attained legendary status in Bristol - and beyond, thanks to being referenced by local comedians like Russell Howard and Stephen Merchant.
