Ezekiel Elliott had a couple signature touchdown celebrations. His “FEED ME” spoon motion could be done anywhere en route to his 82 touchdowns as a Dallas Cowboy. His victorious leap into an oversized Salvation Army kettle, however? That could only be done at AT&T Stadium around Christmas time.
Fortunately, Monday night’s showdown with the Cincinnati Bengals offered that opportunity. But when a star tailback crashed through the end zone and into the sparkly cauldron behind the end line, Cowboys fans were disappointed to see it wasn’t Elliott.
And Bengals running back Chase Brown was disappointed that his touchdown didn’t count… yet.

Brown was erroneously ruled down at the six-yard line. A challenge from Cincinnati head coach Zac Taylor rectified that problem, but it didn’t put Brown back in his pot, leaving us the rare sight of a grown man, incredulously climbing out of a giant, bright red kettle.
Combine that with the ongoing shenanigans of an alternate broadcast that had Homer Simpson winging touchdown passes to CeeDee Lamb and… yeah, weird night.
