Charlotte Dawson shows off new look as she ensures her late dad shares centre stage at her 30th birthday bash

Charlotte Dawson was the belle of the ball at her Great Gatsby theme event as she celebrating turning 30. The reality star looked stunning as she showcased her new brunette look at her birthday bash.

The former Ex on the Beach and Celebs Go Dating star dazzled in a champagne-coloured, silver jewelled figure-hugging dress with feather detail. She wore her new mocha and espresso tresses in elegant waves in keeping with the event theme as she was joined by her proud fiance Matthew Sarsfield and their adorable toddler son Noah in matching dapper outfits.

Charlotte was joined at her bash, at The Barn at Morleys Hall, Astley, by pals including Coronation Street favourite Helen Flanagan, Geordie Shore's Sophie Kasaei and model Taylor Ward, the wife of Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez. She also ensured her late father, the much-loved Manchester comedian Les Dawson, shared her special day by bringing along her treasured cardboard cut-out of the comic.

Her party featured a fish and chip van and a gravy fountain instead of a chocolate one, in honour of her favourite meal the chippy tea, a pizza van, photo booths and a firework display. Charlotte will next month star in pantomime at the The Globe Theatre, Blackpool Pleasure Beach as Cinderella’s stepmother. She was the woman of the hour as she took centre stage at her celebrations after also having a new family home to celebrate.

Charlotte recently shared on her Instagram a glimpse of their new house, saying: "Our beautiful home by neeeet can’t wait to make it our own & move in properly soon." She previously wrote earlier this month: "Our big announcement I know you all thought I was preggo which trust me I wish I was but that will come ... this is our NEW FAMBO HOME in my hometown which is just so special (especially to me) who has lived 5 years away from home!!! Very proud of us & wowza what a perfect 30th birthday pressie."

Charlotte, who is known for her frank and down-to-earth social media posts, recently revealed that she was hoping to lose weight for her 30th birthday. She said she had probably put a stone on following a holiday in Rome and being injured in a scooter accident on the trip.

At the end of August she shared snaps of her bloodied and swollen face and bandaged head on her Instagram as she explained that she had fallen of a scooter after losing control. The mum-of-one, whose son Noah born in January 2021 just days before what would have been Les' 90th birthday, said she wants to lose 'a couple of pounds' after enjoying her favourite foods while in Italy.

She said in a video message: "I've been on holiday. When you got to Rome you can't not eat loads of pasta and pizza. You're in bloody Italy. Italian is my favourite food."

She added: "I was in my element and also the accident has really thrown me. I've got to be careful with my diabetes. I need to get back on it now. I want to lose a couple of pounds."

Charlotte said she wanted to feel 'a million dollars' in her birthday outfit. "I've tried a couple of dresses on and none of them fit me right now," she said.

Charlotte reportedly lost four stone after she was warned that her diet risked her developing type two diabetes, the same condition battled by her national treasure dad, from Collyhurst, who died suddenly in June 1993 at the age of 62 after suffering a heart attack. Charlotte was just eight months old when he passed away.

In January she said: "I’ve never felt more happier healthier and confident." She was diagnosed with gestational diabetes when she was pregnant with Noah, a common condition that affects one in 20 pregnant women.

She believed the condition was just part of her pregnancy and returned to her usual diet including her favourite chips and gravy after giving birth. But Charlotte was told to clean up her diet during a trip to the doctor after she felt 'a bit funny.'

She said previously: "I started this fitness journey with the goal of avoiding type two diabetes because I had gestational diabetes and was warned I was still in danger after Noah was born.” She added: "My dad had it and died when I was just eight-months-old, so it really was a wake-up call to start getting fit."

Type two diabetes is a condition that causes the level of sugar in the blood to become too high and can lead to stroke, blindness, heart disease, kidney failure, limb amputation and early death. After giving birth she was hailed as an inspiration as she embraced her "postpartum jelly belly and tiger stripes."

In 2017 Charlotte had a massive picture of her dad's face inked on the nape of her neck during an appearance on the MTV show Just Tattoo of Us. She had the tattoo chosen for her by her pal Love Island star Katie Salmon - and she loved the inking of her dad pulling one of his famous gurning faces.

She previously said she wanted to open her own theme chippy in Manchester or Blackpool with glittery gravy, podiums, disco balls, a prosecco bar and a corner dedicated to Les - and the chips would be wrapped in articles about her father, who was known for his curmudgeonly persona.

Bubbly Charlotte pitched the idea to her followers on Instagram, asking: “Who thinks I should open my own too glam to give a damn chuffin chippy???”" In 2016 Charlotte said in a chat on ITV talk show This Morning that she would make sure her late father will be there when she marries her dream man, by taking her life-size cardboard cut-out of him to the church.

Charlotte brought the cut-out of her dad on the set of This Morning for an emotional tribute with her mum Tracy, and told hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford about rugby player Matt: “I think I’ve found the one now, I really have.”

Gesturing at the cardboard cut-out of her dad she added: “Hopefully he’ll be there. He’ll be down the aisle waiting for me.” Charlotte previously took the photo tribute to Euston station in London in the rush hour ahead of a TV documentary celebrating his life.

In 2020 Matthew asked Charlotte to marry him while she was expecting Noah, the day before they were due to find out the gender of their baby. Sharing photos from the special moment at her dad's statue in Lytham St Annes, while flashing her engagement ring, Charlotte wrote to her followers on Instagram: "OMG OMG OMG my darlings IM CHUFFIN ENGAGED!!!!! to the man of my dreams.

"I cant believe it!!! My baby, my life, my world @matt_sarsfield couldn’t of done it better he got on one knee at my dads statue!!! the day before we find out what gender our baby is. I can’t cope. My fairytale came true I feel the luckiest girl in the world. My dad got to witness me get engaged."

Charlotte said she felt the pregnancy was a 'gift' from her her dad. She wrote a moving message to him about her excitement at becoming a mum while wishing she could share the news with him.

Charlotte posted the heartbreaking words on her Instagram. "Wish I could tell you your going to be a grandad," she wrote.

"I really hope baba comes out my chuffin womb on your birthday too ... I really feel like you sent our little gift so lucky I have you as a cardboard cut out."

After losing weight she clapped back after being told "you're only funny when you're fat" by trolls. Pulling a comical gurn for the camera like her famous dad she blasted on social media: "Those t*** Ed’s who say now I’ve lost all the spare timber I’m not funneh any more. What’s wrong with you? Are you saying if my dad had been skinny he wouldn’t have been funny?! It takes more than a bit of blubber to make someone laff ffs!"
