Charlotte Crosby ’s mum has shared her first post since revealing she had cancer.
The pregnant former Geordie Shore star, 32, was left devastated earlier this year after discovering her mum Letitia had been diagnosed with breast cancer after going for her routine mammogram.
She went on to discover a lump in her own breast just days after her mum's diagnosis.
And now Letitia, 53, has taken to her Instagram to thank fans for their support.
She shared a snap of herself in a hospital gown with a cannula in her arm. In a video, Letitia and Charlotte explained that she was going in for her third biopsy.
“I’m being brave and strong but I’m really dreading this one because I know it’s going to hurt,” Letitia said ahead of having an “in depth mammogram”.
In the caption, Letitia wrote: “I want to say a huge thankyou for the huge amount of love and support I have received since my story came out its absolutely overwhelming.
“It’s been a tough year with a rollercoaster of emotions. The 4 people in my last picture have been my absolute rock throughout all of this I could not of gotten through this without them and the amazing staff, nurses and consultants at the Queen Elizabeth hospital Gateshead.
“I have still a Rough journey ahead of me but with the support system I have around me I will get there! I donated all of my fee from the article I did to @factcancersupport who provide support to families and cancer patients. [sic]
“They are a north eat based charity and do amazing things. I would like to share my journey with you guys and continue to raise awareness in the importance of checking your breasts and attending mammograms. I won’t let this beat me #F**kCancer.” [sic]
It comes after Charlotte and her mum spoke about the diagnosis and are calling upon the government to lower the age of mammogram screening invitations after 53-year-old Letitia prepares to start chemotherapy and radiotherapy next month.
Speaking about her experience, Letitia explained: “It was just a routine mammogram, I have never missed one. When they told me it was cancer I was floored.
“I had no symptoms, no lumps, nothing. The mammogram has helped save my life – they should be inviting women of all ages to one every single year. Not just women over 50,“ she continued to The Sun.
“Mam had no symptoms. There were no signs,“ Charlotte added, before revealing that she also found a lump in her breast too.
“I became so much more aware of my own body. And then I found a lump literally just after mum was diagnosed,“ she said.
