But among those who are lucky enough to call Wales home is Charlotte Church who loves nothing more than embracing the luscious countryside on her doorstep when she's not working.
If she's not renovating Welsh designer Laura Ashley's old home which she's busy turning into a retreat or busking on the streets of Cardiff, she can be found soaking up the Welsh scenery - and she recently got to do this by taking a dip in a pond. Welsh Lavender, a lavender farm in Builth Wells, posted a photo of Charlotte swimming in their pond.

Joined by two friends Charlotte is pictured grinning from ear to ear, floating in the pond. Welsh Lavender captioned the story: "We had the lovely @therealcharlottechurch and friends drop by for a morning dip in our pond!"
They added: "Can't wait to welcome you back to the farm soon" followed by a blue love heart emoji. Charlotte also shared the picture on her own Instagram story.
Wild swimming is a popular hobby for many people and it appears Charlotte is now joining in on the fun. However, Charlotte has not always had it easy while in Wales.
She faced many problems trying to turn the former mansion of Laura Ashely into a well-being retreat, including huge trees blowing down in storms near the house and facing delays with the build. Charlotte has announced there will be a second series of Dream Build, the TV show which followed her renovations to the house.
In 2021 the star also took part in The Masked Singer, the Saturday night ITV show, where many guessed she was Mushroom, including her family.
