Arsenal youngster Charlie Patino will undergo a scan on his ankle after rolling it playing for Blackpool on Tuesday night.

Patino, who is on loan at Championship club Blackpool, suffered the injury in the first-half of their 1-0 win at Loftus Road.

The midfielder managed to finish the opening 45 minutes but was forced off at the break and he will now undergo a scan in the coming days.

Fellow loanee Lewis Fiorini, who is at Blackpool after Manchester City let him go for the season, also came off with a hamstring issue.

“It’s not great, if I'm being honest,” said Blackpool manager Michael Appleton when speaking about Fiorini and Patino’s injuries.

“We’ll know the full extent over the next 72 hours I would imagine.

“Lewis has done his hamstring. How badly, we won't know until it’s been scanned.

“Charlie’s ankle is quite badly swollen. We’ve got to get the swelling down and then once the swelling is under control we can go and get it scanned.

“We look a little light in midfield now and that worries me a bit.”

Patino has started his loan spell at Blackpool impressively and the club will hope any injury is not serious.
