Former Celtic star Charlie Nicholas believes Premiership champions Rangers are toiling but expects them to escape Parkhead without losing.
The 60-year-old can't wait for the big one but reckons Ange Postecoglou' s side also aren't firing on all cylinders due to injury and international call-ups.
The likes of Kyogo and David Turnbull are injured, while Tom Rogic and Daizen Maeda will almost certainly miss out due to being away on international duty.
However, Rangers don't have their problems to seek after their slapstick 3-3 draw with Ross County was followed up a dramatic win for Celtic against Dundee United.
There's only two points in it now but Nicholas admits he doesn't see either side losing under the lights at Parkhead.
Speaking in his Express column, he said: "Celtic have to go for it, even if it’s not about leapfrogging their biggest rivals right now for Ange.
"Of course, it’s important for the Hoops supporters. But, for the Australian boss, the final table is all that matters. And he is right.
"However, it would still be massive for Celtic if they were to win against their Glasgow foes.
"Things have changed dramatically in recent weeks – and the Bhoys have to be confident with the game at Celtic Park – with Saturday’s late win over Dundee United being celebrated for a good 10 minutes after the final whistle.
"But it was nothing more than an average performance, considering Rangers had dropped two points earlier in the day at Ross County.
"Celtic might have beaten United and held off a spirited Hearts in their last two games, but they have lost their rhythm and composure.
"Nir Bitton was massive in both but he then got himself suspended with a second booking against the Arabs.
"Celtic finished with an inexperienced side and credit to them for digging out a win through Liel Abada’s 90th-minute tap-in after appearing to be running on empty.
"But neither side is playing well. My old club are just hanging in and the Gers are a mess defensively."
Nicholas reckons there's a need for speed for Rangers if they are to keep Celtic off them.
And he expects the Ibrox side, who could have Aaron Ramsey in the squad, to still be on top come Thursday morning.
He added: "Van Bronckhorst is struggling up front and might have to go with the pace of Fashion Sakala.
"I can’t see him changing his style of play but he might try to bring a bit more physicality into his side.
"I don’t think Ryan Jack is quite there yet and there is no doubt the Gers miss Steven Davis’ calmness and ability to control the tempo.
"As for Celtic, a lack of experience could be problematic.
"I see goals as both teams have defensive vulnerabilities.
"Van Bronckhorst’s first loss as Gers boss will come, but not yet. I’ve a feeling it’ll be a score draw."
