Media personality, founder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), former executive of the organisation, and husband of Erika Kirk was fatally shot in the neck while speaking at an outdoor 'American Comeback Tour' event at Utah Valley University on 10 September 2025.

Charlie Kirk, 31, a conservative activist, was conducting his well-known 'prove me wrong' debate with students and was discussing gun violence when the incident occurred. The shooting was carried out by a gunman positioned on a nearby rooftop.
