Charlie Bird has vowed to "light a candle for Ukraine" as he thanked the public for their support.
The veteran broadcaster was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease last year and has regularly updated his followers on social media as to how he's getting on.
He plans to climb the Mayo mountain later this year to raise vital funds for the Irish Motor Neurone's Association as well as Pieta House.
Charlie has been keeping an eye on the situation in Eastern Europe, and said he wanted to help out in his own way, explaining the plan on Wednesday night.
Charlie tweeted: "Climbwithcharlie is not political in any way. But when I climb Croagh Patrick I want to light a fifth candle for the people of Ukraine.
"Climbwithcharlie is all about solidarity and extending the hand of friendship. Thanks you all so much for your amazing support."
Previously, Charlie explained that he would light a candle for everyone who is suffering from a terminal illness, as well as one for "anyone who is in a dark place"
Charlie, who has been honest and open in his battle with motor neurone's disease since being diagnosed towards the end of last year, has admitted that he still struggles on some days.
Charlie recently revealed how he recognised his symptoms of Motor Neurone's disease from a past visit to his late friend in RTE, Colm Murray.
Charlie received his diagnosis in November after noticing that he was having issues with his voice.
Since that day, he has been very public with his battle, inspiring thousands in doing so.
