Charlie Bird has shared a special video message thanking the public for their huge support with Charlie's Walk of Friendship.
The veteran reporter, 73, who has been battling Motor Neurone Disease, gave an update following the 5K in the Phoenix Park on Saturday. And in the message, in which he was joined by his beloved dog Tiger, he revealed what's next for the ongoing charity campaign.
During the event Charlie helped light candles in solidarity with others in Ireland and around the world who have a terminal illness. The video was recorded using Charlie's special voice bank which gives him his own voice despite the struggles he faces with MND.

He said: "I just wanted to thank you all for the lighting the candle and extending the hand of friendship. Even my great pal Tiger joined in as well. I have said that as long as I am alive I want to continue helping charities and groups that are extending the hand of friendship.
"I am now raising awareness for Samaritans. On Sunday April 16 I will be leading a walk for them in Wicklow. And there will be many walks across the country. To find out all the details go to Charlie's Walk of Friendship. And Tiger will be with me as well. So let's all extend the hand of friendship. Thanks again."
Sharing the video on social media, Charlie said: "A sincere thanks to everyone who supported climbwithcharlie and lit a candle to those who need our support. I am going to spend the next while helping to raise awareness for Samaritans. See http://charlieswalkoffriendship.com. I love you all."
