The former RTE journalist turned up at the party alongside his wife Claire and beloved dog, Tiger.

She said: "I got the surprise of my life when Charlie Bird, his wife Claire and dog Tiger turned up for my 60th birthday last night and what a birthday greeting he spoke was absolutely beautiful.
