Charli XCX and Mura Masa announced as new acts for All Points East

Charli XCX has been announced as the latest addition to the All Points East line-up for August 27, alongside a slew of other names.

All Points East, which takes place on August 19 and 20, as well as the August Bank Holiday weekend from Thursday August 25, will see Disclosure take to the stage to headline on August 27.

In addition to the UK-based dance group, James Blake and up-and-coming rap star Koffee will also be performing along with Jamie xx, Little Simz and Fred Again….

Several other names have also been added to the line-up for the festival’s penultimate day, including Mura Masa, Shy FX, Franky Wah, Wesley Joseph and Lola Young.

All Points East promises to be one of the top musical events of the summer. First set up in 2018 in London’s Victoria Park, it was cancelled in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, it was back with a bang last year and welcomed headliners London Grammar, Jamie xx, Kano, Bicep and Foals to an audience of thousands.

In addition to the August 27 line-up for the 2022 festival, Gorillaz will be headlining on the opening day, August 19.

This will be followed by Tame Impala on August 25 and The National on August 26.

Finally, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds will be closing the festival on August 28.

In addition to the two stages, the festival will also feature a new area called “The Information”, which is a space dedicated for activism, examination and debate on current affairs and cultural issues.

It’s also been a busy few months for Charli XCX. In addition to being announced as the latest artist to grace the festival’s stage, the British singer recently wrapped up the UK leg of her tour for bestselling album Crash with a sold-out show at Alexandra Palace.

During the performance, she took a moment to thank her fans for their continued support.

“You guys, who have just really supported me when no one else believed in me,” she told the crowd.

“I was already sweating a lot and now I’m crying so I look like a crazy b***h.”
