Charles Oliveira has jokingly apologised to Drake after the rapper lost his $400,000 bet on the Brazilian's fight with Justin Gaethje.
Oliveira was set to defend his title against Gaethje in Phoenix but was stripped of the lightweight crown after missing weight. Despite the distraction, Oliveira choked out the American which meant rapper Drake lost his $427,000 bet on the challenger.
The 32-year-old has now sent a short message to Drake after the fight, during a conversation with TSN Sports. "I saw it. I apologise but you bet on the wrong guy," he said. Oliveira went into the fight as the betting favourite despite failing to make the 155lb limit.
Drake would have won $1million had his bet been successful, but despite suffering an early scare in a fast-paced opener, Oliveira rallied to secure a rear-naked choke on his rival who quickly tapped out to put an end to his latest title challenge.
This is not the first time the Grammy multi-award winning artist has come unstuck after placing a bet on a UFC main event, after he lost $250,00 when he placed his hopes Jorge Masvidal defeating Colby Covington earlier this year. Masvidal was ultimately condemned to defeat, which sees Drake's losses come to a staggering $677,000 from his past two wagers.
Oliviera will challenge for the belt in his next fight against a leading contender and called out the leading fighters in the division. "There is something missing here. The champion has a name and it's Charles Oliveira," said the winner.

"This is a message to the entire division; I am. a problem for the entire division. I am the enlighted, I am the champion, this is my title and it should be here. Dana White, I don't care [who I fight next], I'm not going to choose. Hey, Conor McGregor, are you going to come back or are you going to run away?"
But the former champion could now end up losing more money than Drake despite his victory, with UFC legend Chael Sonnen claiming he could be set for a $2 million windfall.
"I could probably come up with, right here in front of you, about $2.3m that that scale fail cost him," Sonnen said on his YouTube channel when assessing UFC 274. "Just so you understand how participation works for defending a championship. You must understand that word - defending a championship.
"So you're talking about the exact same thing, just that sponsor money goes down. You're looking at another 30 grand... but also the pay-per-view clause, you're looking at another million bucks."
