Johnson on the fight's key moment
“I don’t care what you’re doing, how you’re training – getting in there fighting is not the same as training and running and preparing once you get in that cage. You’ve got to get in there and feel that. … He was off, or he was just slower than me.”
Johnson on being the UFC's first win of the year
“Everything I’m working for and moving toward, starting the year exactly the way we wanted to – keeping the ball rolling. First fight of the year, first card of the year – let’s go.”
Johnson on what he wants next
“March is full of great (events). I’d love to fight in March. It’s London at the end of the (month); it’s (San Antonio), Texas’ and it’s a Fight Night here, I believe. Any of those, I’d be happy with. My lady gave me a timeline to the middle of April before I’ve got to be in Norway for this baby, so I’m pushing for March. Today, right there in the cage, (is when I found out).”
