Charles Barkley and Draymond Green are two of the biggest personalities in the basketball world, and every now and again, the two butt heads. So putting them on the same broadcast for Sunday night’s NBA All-Star Game was a viral moment just waiting to happen.
Although the Warriors currently sit in ninth place in the Western Conference at 29-29, Green seemed to hint that Golden State could reach the NBA Finals as a No. 6 or No. 7 seed. Naturally, Barkley had to step in with his own reality check.
“I hate to say it, but the Golden State Warriors are cooked,” Barkley said.
Green responded by saying, ”That’s crazy. You said that last year, but we all know you don’t know what you talkin’ about. You say that every year.”
“That’s not true,” Barkley responded. “But y’all are cooked now. Y’all are done.”
The reigning NBA champions have struggle this season, in no small part thanks to injuries—specifically superstar guard Stephen Curry. The two-time MVP is out with a left leg injury and already has missed 20 games this year.
Even when the Warriors get Curry back, making it to the Finals in the talent-laden Western Conference doesn’t seem likely, according to Barkley.
