Charles Barkley got this take absolutely right.
The Los Angeles Lakers were playing better fairly recently, but have lost four of their last five including Tuesday’s OT L to the Boston Celtics. As of Wednesday morning, they’d be the No. 12 seed in the West at 11-16.
Despite all of that, they’re going to be talked about because: LeBron is there, they have an MVP candidate in Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook is adapting to sixth man status … and the storied franchise is a laughingstock.
Which brings us to Chuck’s rant — he’s gone in on the Lakers before — on Tuesday night’s Inside the NBA. Tl;dr: The Lakers stink, but we (including himself!) have to talk about them, and when do we ever talk about 12 seeds?
