Charity shop guru shares 3 items that could earn you a fortune if you sell them on

Charity shops can be treasure troves when it comes to picking up high-quality items at affordable prices.

Going thrifting instead of buying new items provides a sustainable and ethical option, while still allowing you to upgrade your wardrobe.

However, it can feel quite overwhelming when you first enter a charity shop, and you may spend a lot of time without finding anything that stands out.

Now a savvy shopper has shared her best charity shop secrets she uses to pick up bargains that could be worth a fortune when sold on.

The woman, who sells her charity shop finds on online marketplace Vinted under the name Bee and Melon, shared her top three tips to make a profit on TikTok.

Posting on her account @yougettimeto, the bargain hunter said: "Three tips I use every time I enter a charity shop.

"Number one, head straight for the shoes looking for brands like Nike, Adidas, highest profit, highest turn over, and will sell really quick.

"Number two, seasonal appropriate items, it's winter at the moment so I'm looking for coats, jumpers, anything warm.

"Number three is plus size clothing, sells fast and is easy to sell and usually cheap - not sure of the reason but plus size clothing in my opinion sells much better than regular size clothing."

As a bonus tip, the Vinted seller recommended checking out "rare items" and also avoiding teddies because they are "too big" and take up too much space. They also "take ages to sell" and are "low profit".

Fellow bargain hunters took to the comments to share their own tips, with one person saying: "I've found that Jellycat teddies sell quite well and they're usually pretty small."

The Vinted seller said that this is a "good exception to the rule," and that she herself had never found one.

Sharing their opinion, another person added: "Plus size clothing [probably] sells well cause we can never find any anywhere! shops full of smalls!"

Another supported commented: "Preowned but still lovely".
