A 21-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Adnan Salameh, who was shot dead in front of his girlfriend in western Sydney in 2020.
Police found Mr Salameh in his home with gunshot wounds in the early hours of November 30 after reports of a home invasion.
Despite receiving treatment, the 30-year-old died at the scene.
On Wednesday, strike force detectives and members of the riot squad arrested the man at a home in Leumeah in the city's southwest.
He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with murder, special aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence, and supply prohibited drug.
Police launched a number of appeals for information over the alleged murder, including in January, when CCTV footage of a loitering car in Sydney's western suburbs was released.
Homicide Squad Commander Superintendent Danny Doherty said the charges came after police chased down a number of complex leads.
"This proves once again that investigators will not rest until there's a resolution for unsolved matters, to provide answers and closure to families," he said.
Initial investigations into the killing were carried out by Mt Druitt Police, before police formed Strike Force Chatelaine, with homicide squad detectives, North West Metropolitan Region investigators and the NSW Crime Commission.
The 21-year-old was refused bail and appeared at Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday.
He is due in court again on Thursday.
