Chappell Roan has announced that she’s cut ties with talent agency Wasserman after the CEO Casey Wasserman was linked to the newly released Epstein files.
The pop star shared a lengthy statement to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday saying she wants her representation to line up with her values.
“As of today, I am no longer represented by Wasserman, the talent agency led by Casey Wasserman,” Roan told fans.
She explained that this is about the standards she sets for the people around her, writing: “I hold my teams to the highest standards and have a duty to protect them as well.”

“No artist, agent, or employee should ever be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict so deeply with our own moral values,” she continued.
Roan also made sure to shout out the people who’ve been working behind the scenes for her, saying she has “deep respect and appreciation for the agents and staff who work tirelessly for their artists” and that she “refuse[s] to passively stand by”.
“Artists deserve representation that aligns with their values and supports their safety and dignity. This decision reflects my belief that meaningful change in our industry requires accountability and leadership that earns trust.”

Why Casey Wasserman is under fire
Roan’s decision comes after millions of pages of documents linked to Jeffrey Epstein were made public by the US Justice Department, including 2003 email exchanges between Casey Wasserman and Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently in prison on sex trafficking charges. The emails show the pair swapping flirtatious and sexually charged messages, including Wasserman asking Maxwell about seeing her in a “tight leather outfit” and writing “Where are you, I miss you” while arranging a massage.

Wasserman has not been accused of any criminal wrongdoing, but the tone of the messages, which were sent while he was married, has drawn widespread criticism. He has since said he “deeply regrets” his communications with Maxwell and is “profoundly sorry for any association with either of them”.
On top of running a major sports and entertainment agency, Wasserman is also chair of the organising committee for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Since the emails surfaced, local politicians and officials have called for him to resign from that role, warning he risks becoming a distraction and could undermine public trust in the event’s commitments to human rights and athlete safety.
Wasserman’s company represents a stack of big‑name talent, including Ed Sheeran, Lorde, Coldplay and Kacey Musgraves, all of whom are yet to share their thoughts on the matter at the time of writing.
