Chappell Roan reveals where she feels 'most glamorous'

Chappell Roan feels 'glamorous' on the red carpet

Chappell Roan feels "most glamorous" on the red carpet.

The 28-year-old pop star has teamed up with MAC Cosmetics Viva Glam for a new campaign celebrating glamour and empowerment, and she's opened up about when she feels both the most.

She told PEOPLE magazine: "I feel the most glamorous when I am walking a red carpet.

"I feel the most empowered after I write a good song, and I know it's good.

"I also feel the most empowered whenever I see someone doing a good thing despite the world being so bleak right now. It empowers me to go and do a good thing."

The Pink Pony Club hitmaker is known for her bold sense of style and beauty in public, but in her everyday life, she takes a more "naturel route".

She explained: "I keep it really simple in my day to day. I usually do just concealer, brow gel, Cool Spice MAC lip liner, and the MAC lipstick in the Creme in Your Coffee shade."

Chappell admitted that wearing makeup makes her feel a certain way.

She added: "I feel sexy when I have makeup on. I feel a certain confidence."

The Hot To Go singer has followed in the footsteps of RuPaul, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and more with a range of Viva Glam products, which include the Unnatural Red Head matte lipstick, the Roan of Arc sheer lipstick, and the Damnsel gloss.

She said this week in a statement: "Viva Glam has always been about more than makeup. It’s about showing up for communities and making real change.

"Being able to create these shades and know that every purchase gives back makes this partnership feel incredibly special to me."

Late last year, Chappell joined MAC Cosmetics as a new global ambassador.

She said in a press release at the time: "Partnering with MAC feels full circle.

“This brand has always made space for people like me; since day one they’ve embraced art, queerness, drag and self-expression.

"I’ve built a special relationship with the MAC team over the years, and they’ve been amazing and thoughtful collaborators on this new journey.”

Chappell has collaborated with the brand in the past, including at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, and an appearance for Saturday Night Live the same year.

They also worked together at the Grammy Awards earlier this year, which makeup artist Andrew Dahling described as "an archive moment".
