- She expressed sadness for the child, emphasising that she does not hate fans or children and that the security's assumption was unfair, adding: “I'm sorry to the mother and child ... it makes me really sad. You did not deserve that.”
- Jorginho Frello, the child's stepfather and a Brazilian footballer, alleged that a member of Roan’s security team aggressively accused his stepdaughter of harassment for smiling at the singer.
- The incident occurred while Roan was at breakfast in her hotel, ahead of her performance at Lollapalooza Brazil.
