Chaos online as Cloudflare outage crashes dozens of major websites

Cloudflare has experienced a massive outage, knocking dozens of major websites offline worldwide.

The online service provides security, performance and routing, helping to connect users to platforms.

When Cloudflare experiences outages, large parts of the internet can be disrupted.

Issues impacted websites including Uber, Workday and Microsoft Outlook.

Cloudflare acknowledged the issues at 6pm on Friday, reporting that customers were seeing an unusually high number of 403 error messages, which means the website is blocking access to the page instead of loading normally.

The problem is affecting the 1.1.1.1 landing page, which is the webpage people see when they visit the public Domain Name System address in a browser.

“Cloudflare is investigating issues with our services and/or network,” the firm said on its system status page.

“Users may experience errors or timeouts reaching Cloudflare’s network or services.

“We will update this status page to clarify the scope of impact as we continue the investigation.”

Cloudflare runs a huge network of servers spread across more than 330 cities in over 120 countries.

These servers help websites load faster, stay secure and handle traffic smoothly.

Its system is extremely powerful, handling massive amounts of data and connecting to more than 13,000 internet networks, including the biggest internet providers, cloud services, and major companies around the world.
