Chaos hits Battlefield 6 as update leaves support players with "busted" defibrillators that only work some of the time: "I let at least 4 teammates die because I couldn't get the defib to register"

Battlefield 6.

Battlefield 6's latest update has left defibrillators "busted," but thankfully the devs are already on the case investigating the issue.

Battlefield 6 update 1.1.2.0 went live yesterday, "reverting aim assist back to the values some of you experienced during Open Beta and Battlefield Labs," adding the new Eastwood map, and more. However, one change that clearly wasn't supposed to happen involves the shooter's defibs – the support gadget that's meant to quickly revive downed teammates. Unfortunately, that's not always been happening since the latest patch, leaving support players in shambles.

"Ever since today's update I can't consistently defib a downed teammate or squad mate," one player reports on Reddit. "I dunno if the tool requires more precision or if its just borked but I've had to stand on top of a teammate for 10 seconds constantly defibbing until it actually registered and I let at least 4 teammates die because I couldn't get the defib to register and revive."

"Is it just me or are defibs broken," another questions. "I feel like whenever I don't press it directly onto the head or chest of a player it won't revive. It would be nice if the hitbox were bigger."

They're clearly not the only ones to notice. YouTube creator Westie took to Twitter to report the "busted" defibs, prompting Battlefield 6 principal game designer (and former professional FPS player) Florian Le Bihan to respond. "I've seen quite a few reports yeah, will investigate what's happening," he confirms.

While it's not clear when we can expect a fix, it thankfully sounds like we can expect one sooner rather than later. For now, players will just have to try extra hard not to require revives in the first place, I suppose.

Battlefield 6 devs say map size is "under review," and for now it looks like they're already cutting player counts on some of the biggest meat grinders.
