People described "chaos" at Aintree Hospital as ambulances queued outside and patients waited on trolleys to get into A&E.
A number of people contacted the ECHO to say dozens of ambulances were queuing outside the hospital on Lower Lane in Fazakerley on Sunday at around 7pm. Patients were reportedly waiting on trolleys in the corridor to get inside A&E due to demand.
It is understood there were around 30 patients on hospital stretchers in the corridors who were waiting to be seen at accident and emergency and around 20 ambulances queuing outside. One person told the ECHO that ambulances were also being "diverted away" from the hospital.
