Channing Tatum and Zoe Kravitz unveiled new project hours before split news

Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz have ended their three-year relationship, a year after announcing their engagement.

Sources confirmed to People on Tuesday that the 44-year-old Magic Mike star and 35-year-old The Batman actress have gone their separate ways, having first been linked in 2021.

Despite their split, the couple will continue to work together on a new project.

Deadline reported earlier that the pair have joined the cast of the upcoming alien invasion comedy Alpha Gang.

They will star alongside Cate Blanchett, who is also a producer on the film, as well as Dave Bautista, Riley Keough, Steven Yeun, and French actress Léa Seydoux.

The comedy centres on a group of aliens disguised as humans and dressed like a 1950s biker gang, whose plans to conquer Earth are complicated when they begin to develop human emotions and consciences.

Shortly before the news of their breakup broke, the Dear John actor shared the casting announcement on his Instagram Stories, but he did not mention the end of his engagement.

The Hollywood pair first crossed paths on the set of Blink Twice, Kravitz’s directorial debut, and began dating soon after.

Multiple sources confirmed to People that the couple has decided to part ways, though details about the breakup remain private.

The news comes just eight weeks after Tatum shared a heartfelt post on social media, captioning an image of Kravitz asleep on his lap with the words, “I got you forever.”

He penned: “This little sweet. She So tired bro. Every time I wondered if she’d break…. She just kept going and going and going. Always on the dig for truth. She pour’d every single ounce of her into this film.

“I’m so proud to stand ten toes down for her, this film and everyone in it. forever. Knowing what it took to make it. No one will ever know.

“Thank you for finding me and seeing me. I got you forever. Me and you back to back against it all. I’ll never blink. Let’s go. #blinktwice.”

The couple announced their engagement last October, and they were candid about their relationship during the 2024 press tour for Blink Twice, which premiered in August.

At the time, Kravitz expressed her hope about collaborating with Tatum again, telling People: "I hope so. I think that art is our love language.

“We love talking about it, experiencing it, and supporting each other."

Tatum even received the blessing of the Batman star’s father, Lenny Kravitz, who told the same outlet, “It feels right,” before adding, “I like [Channing] very much.”

The 60-year-old shared that the couple “have something naturally special," emphasising, “they also do the work. They are dedicated. That’s what it’s all about. It’s beautiful to watch. “

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the rocker added: “When your family is happy, when your child is happy, that’s everything. I feel blessed."

Both Tatum and Kravitz have been married before. The Magic Mike star tied the knot with Step Up co-star Jenna Dewan in 2009 after meeting on the set of the 2006 hit film.

The couple welcomed their daughter, Everly, in 2013 but separated in April 2018. He was later romantically linked to singer Jessie J before meeting Kravitz.

The High Fidelity star, known for her role in Big Little Lies, had been single since filing for divorce from actor Karl Glusman in December 2020.

The Standard has contacted Zoe Kravitz and Channing Tatum’s rep for comment.
