Three High Definition TV channels that viewers previously had to pay through providers like Sky for will now be available for free.
ITV2 HD, ITV3 HD and ITV4 HD are all coming to homes across the UK which watch television via a Freesat.
The move comes amid an ITV shakeup which will see the television network no longer restricting certain channels from free-to-view platforms.
Freesat users will be able to access the new improved quality ITV shows on channels 113, 115 and 117.
As reported by the Express, fans can now watch their favourite shows with pin-sharp quality, although this will sadly not be the case if you use a Freeview box.
That's because there simply isn't enough bandwidth to add more HD services to this popular platform.
As well as the free channel change, ITV have announced that the streaming app ITV Hub will be scrapped and replaced with ITVX.
Speaking on ITVX in a statement, the broadcaster said: "At launch, viewers will have access to over 10,000 hours of content in high definition, and ITVX will also drop new and exclusive programmes every week of the year."
ITV’s Chief Executive, Carolyn McCall added: “We’re really excited to launch ITVX, with more content available than ever before, and a whole range of exclusive commissions.
ITVX is powered by a significant, streaming-first commissioning budget, and an integrated technology and data platform providing a high quality, and more personalised viewing and advertising experience, that will continue to evolve in 2023 and beyond.”
