Channel crossing tragedy: UK launches inquiry into 2021 mass drowning which left 27 dead

An independent inquiry into a “Channel crossing tragedy” in which at least 27 people died after an inflatable migrant boat capsized has been launched, the Transport Secretary announced.

An investigation into the circumstances of the deaths, which included a pregnant woman and three children, on 24 November 2021 will take place.
