Channel 5 news presenter Dan Walker has said he is 'glad to be alive' after being hit by a car.
The 45-year-old said he was riding a bike on Monday morning (February 20) when the accident happened, in which he sustained gruesome injuries to his face. He added that he didn't think he'd broken any bones.
Taking to social media, Dan uploaded three photos of himself in the back of an ambulance, showing the cuts to his face. He captioned the post: "Bit of an accident this morning. Glad to be alive after getting hit by a car on my bike. Face is a mess but I don’t think anything is broken.

"Thanks to Shaun and Jamie for sorting me out and the lovely copper at the scene. This is my smiling [laughing face emoji]. Thankful for our NHS [red heart emoji]."
It isn't clear where the accident took place. Friends and fans were surprised to see Dan's injuries, with many wishing him well. Strictly Come Dancing judge Motsi Mabuse commented: "Oh wow !!! Get well soon" while ITV news presenter Sally Biddulph added: "So glad you are OK Dan, what a shock. Rest up and feel better soon".
Broadcaster Mark Clemmit said: "Mate…..Much love from us" and 5 News royal correspondent Simon Vigar tweeted: "Glad to hear you are in one piece: it must be terrifying. Take it easy."
