As Liz Truss settles into her first month as Prime Minister of the UK, Channel 4 is airing a new and bizarre reality TV show which will see 12 ordinary yet opinionated Brits compete to be crowned Channel 4’s alternative Prime Minister. This The Apprentice-style show will put the wannabe Prime Ministers through their paces.
The challenges will be set and judged by Alistair Campbell, who was Tony Blair's spokesman and campaign director, and Baroness Sayeeda Warsi who is a former Conservative MP. Each candidate will need to persuade and convince former politicians, experienced journalists, and the public, that they have the charisma, vision, and political acumen to lead.

When will Make Me Prime Minister start and how many episodes are there?
Make Me Prime Minister will begin on Channel 4 on Tuesday, September 27 at 9.15pm. There will be six episodes in the series, each an hour long, and the episodes will be available on All 4 after they have aired on Channel 4.
What is Make Me Prime Minister about?
The series will follow as 12 ordinary people to see if they have got what it takes to be Prime Minister. They will be on the campaign trail and will be given a series of prime ministerial-style tasks designed to test their leadership skills, resilience, and integrity.
Some of the tasks the candidates will be facing are: Averting an international crisis by negotiating with an enemy of the country, explaining their new education policy to a group of five-year-olds, and coping with being scrutinised by the country’s top journalists, with just minutes to prepare.
Each week the candidates will be whittled down until only one is remained and is crowned Channel 4’s Alternative Prime Minister.
