Steve Jones has become a familiar face on our screens over the years, best known for presenting a variety of shows on Channel 4, including the F1 coverage. Tonight (March 17) the 45-year-old is set to host the network's brand new show Perfect House, Secret Location, which sees him help house hunters find there dream homes.
But unlike many other TV property shows, this four-part series comes with an unlikely twist. Although it is no surprise to hear of Steve's latest presenting stint, his career didn't begin in TV.
The 6ft tall Welsh presenter, who was born in Tylorstown, started out as a model. He posed for American men's magazine Esquire and later designed and modelled clothing for Very's in-house brand 'Good Souls'.

It was in 2002 that Steve landed his first hosting gigs for ITV Wales, co-presenting the Pop Factory Awards alongside fellow Welsh presenter, actress and model Liz Fuller. The show featured Welsh bands as well as more mainstream pop acts at the time like Sophie Ellis-Bextor and S Club 7.
Steve's first presenting role with Channel 4 came in 2003 on the weekend entertainment programme T4, where he mainly interviewed celebrity guests. After working on the show for seven years, Steve became one of the main faces of programme alongside his co- presenters Vernon Kay, Alexa Chung and Rick Edwards.
During his time on T4 Steve also embarked on another career path with his first acting role in the popular teenage romantic comedy film Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging. Steve played Welsh hunk Jem, the builder who the film's main star Georgia was convinced her mum was having an affair with - but she turned out to be wrong in the end.
In 2010, Steve also made a brief appearance acting as a reporter in a British comedy It's a Wonderful Afterlife and had a cameo as a reporter again in 2011 in the romcom film Chalet Girl. After his brief film appearances, Steve returned to TV. In 2011 he co-presented the first season of The X Factor USA alongside Nicole Scherzinger.
But after one season he was given the boot after Simon Cowell stated that many changes would be made to the show for the second season.
Steve was given the great opportunity to present ITV's one-off music special A Night With Beyonce in 2011, and presented Let's Dance for Comic Relief for BBC alongside Claudia Winkleman then Alex Jones from 2009 until 2013. Throughout his years on TV, his Welsh charm and model-like looks have reportedly won over some of the most beloved British TV personalities.
He’s reportedly known to have dated TV and radio presenter Fearne Cotton, actress and presenter Denise Van Outen and Emmerdale actress Amy Nuttall, as well as The One Show presenter Alex Jones whom he presented Comic Relief with, reports MyLondon.
But it was actually whilst he was in the USA filming for The X Factor that he met his now-wife and photographer Phylicia Jackson. MyLondon says the pair were reported to have later tied the knot in a low-key ceremony held at Mayfair Library in London.
In 2014 Steve also presented the BBC Three reality show Hair but for the second series he was replaced by comedian Katherine Ryan. In the same year he also co-presented Channel 4 cookery show Weekend Kitchen with Waitrose. His appearance on the former cookery show sparked another of its kind for Channel 4, as Steve then went on to present the daytime cooking game show My Kitchen Rules
Nowadays, Steve is most commonly known for leading the presenting team on Channel 4's F1 where he has presented live races and highlight shows since 2016. It is believed that the he and wife Phylicia currently live in between London and Los Angeles.
