Dick and Angel Strawbridge will no longer be working with Channel 4 after the Escape to the Chateau stars were subject to an investigation into their behaviour.
The British broadcaster has walked away from the popular couple despite their main series, which follows the renovation of their 19th-century home, and various spin-off shows being extremely popular with Channel 4 audiences.
A representative for Channel 4 told the Mirror: “Following a review we have taken the decision to not work with Dick and Angel on any new productions in the future."
Two Rivers Media confirmed to Mirror that they also have cut ties and will no longer be working with the couple.
"We can confirm that we will no longer work with Dick and Angel and cannot comment further at the moment," a representative for the production company told the Mirror.
The nature of the allegations and the subsequent investigation has not been confirmed but reports suggest the Strawbridges clashed with producers.
“There has been a deteriorating relationship between Two Rivers and Dick and Angel’s Chateau TV for various reasons and it all came to a head,” said a source familiar with the situation told Deadline.
After Two Rivers Media decided against working with the couple, Channel 4 launched an investigation into the situation, which was carried out by an independent HR professional.
The investigation involved producers and crew who have worked with the couple as they renovated their 19th-century Château de la Motte-Husson in Martigné-sur-Mayenne, France, being interviewed.
The findings of this investigation have not been released but Channel 4 subsequently ended their relationship with the couple.
A representative for Dick and Angel Strawbridge has been contacted by the Mirror for comment.
The ninth and final season of Escape to the Chateau aired last December and was one of Channel 4's most popular shows, attracting more than 2.5million viewers.
Despite the series coming to an end, a host of spin-off shows were in production including Escape to the Chateau: Secret France.
Filming on this new series has wrapped and its currently in post-production but it's not yet clear whether he British broadcaster will air the series.
