Buying a property can be stressful for home movers, even if you are looking for your dream home overseas, as A Place in the Sun host Scarlette Douglas discovered. The presenter was said to have been left lost for words when buyers stormed off during the show, which aired on Monday, September 5.
The presenter was in Tuscany for the programme, there to assist married couple Laura and Matt in their search for the perfect holiday home. With a budget of £180,000, the couple wanted somewhere in the Italian countryside that had beautiful views and plenty of space for their grown up children to visit.
Scarlette had the job of showing the pair around the properties that had been sought out for them. They were delighted with the presenters second property, a three-bedroom farmhouse with a private garden, huge open-plan living area and a modern kitchen. It was on the market for just under £170,000.

However, when it came to property number three, they called it quits before having even taken a proper tour. On the market for £187,500, it had four bedrooms with stunning views of the surrounding hills.
But it was too remote for Laura and Matt's liking, and according to Liverpool Echo, they walked out before Scarlette could show them around. The host said: "I am sensing that you’re not as elated as you were with the previous one".
Laura admitted her concerns over the remote nature of the property, adding: "I think it’s more that if it was a permanent move then it would be more suitable." Matt agreed, and said: "The location is a little bit of an issue. It feels like you come off some very remote roads, down a remote track into the woods. It just feels disconnected".
Scarlette asked: "Do you want to keep looking around?” and Matt replied: "I think we’ve probably drawn a line on this one", before the pair walked away.
A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 3pm on Channel 4 and All 4
