Channel 4 A Place in the Sun fans spot huge 'eyesore' in £225k apartment

A Place in the Sun's Jasmine Harman struggled to impress potential buyers as this week's third instalment of the property-hunting show got underway.

Wednesday's episode of the popular Channel 4 programme saw Jasmine on hand to help out married couple Samar and Pap find their perfect holiday home in Benalmadena on Spain’s Costa del Sol. With a budget of £220,000, they were looking for somewhere that would accommodate them, their children, and their extended family when they come to visit.

Pap was also keen for there to be somewhere to play golf nearby, while the couple added they wanted to be near the town's restaurants and bars.

But while Jasmine was keen to impress, things were off to a rocky start. Property number one, a three-bedroom apartment, was on the market for just over £180,000.

It couldn't have been closer to the bars, which turned out to be its downfall. Despite being considerably below budget, and having a pool Samar and Pap thought was "lovely", the couple thought its close proximity to the nightlife would make it too loud to be suitable.

The second home, a three-bedroom apartment with a covered balcony and countryside views, was on the market for just over £225,000. The bedrooms were large and there was a separate fitted kitchen, but the property was almost immediately ruled out after Samar and Pap took one look out of the balcony.

Spoiling the views somewhat were large pylons and a motorway bridge. Samar said: "We'd want to sit out here and enjoy it..."

Fans of the show also spotted the "eyesore". Taking to Twitter, Andy said: "£200k plus for pylon view and motorway bridge .. don’t blame them being disappointed".

Caroline said: "Pylon! No, next!", while Emma said: "To be fair you'd probably get cracking mobile signal" before adding: "But did they really not think they'd notice a great big eyesore outside?" Ange said: "Ha, did Jasmine think they'd not see the pylon?".

A Place in the Sun continues weekdays at 4pm on Channel 4 and All 4
