The Belgian scored superb goals against both the Netherlands and Germany at the 1994 World Cup in front of the watching Kevin Keegan, who was working as a pundit for ITV that summer, and the Magpies boss soon came calling.
"Without the World Cup, I would never have gone to Newcastle," Albert told ChronicleLive. "I would have played somewhere else, but it wouldn't have been the same.
