Thousands of us will be making plans this summer to travel abroad - but before you book anything, it's worth knowing the fees that will apply if you amend your flight.
The aviation industry is suffering major disruption as a surge in demand for travel coincides with staff shortages across roles such as airline crew, ground handlers, airport security staff and air traffic controllers. This had caused some people to consider changing their flight and choose a staycation instead.
However, several airlines charge passengers to make amendments to their booking - whether it be a date change, flight route amendment or correcting a passengers name.

With this in mind, we've rounded up the flight fee changes for easyJet, TUI, Ryanair, Jet2 and British Airways.

TUI
TUI said: "Sometimes you can make changes to your holiday. Where we treat your change as a cancellation, you will pay a termination fee instead of an amendment fee. If the new holiday is more expensive you will need to pay the fee and the difference in price.
"Airlines or other transport providers can charge a fee for a change and sometimes treat a change as a cancellation. Fees can be up to 100% of the price for that part of your holiday.
"When making changes, the price of your new travel arrangements will be based on the price that applies on the day you make the change. Please note there won’t be any reduction in the price you pay, even if your new travel arrangements are cheaper than your original booking."

"For any additional name changes, we'll charge the administration fee plus the difference (if any) in price between your original fare and today’s fare price (including any increase to taxes, fees, or other charges)."
They continued: "For date changes, we'll charge the administration fee plus the difference (if any) in price between your original fare and today’s fare price (including any increase to taxes, fees, or other charges).
"Unfortunately, you can't change your departure or destination airport once the booking has been made."

British Airways said: "If your journey is due to be completed by September 30 2022, you can change your dates, destination or even cancel if you need to, although a fare difference may still apply. For bookings made before June 7 2022, the change booking fee will still be waived.
"If you’re due to travel from October 1 2022 onwards, our standard delays, cancellation and refund options are applicable."
