Chancellor unveils up to £20 million for Victorian pier after blaze

A Victorian pier damaged in a blaze will be restored with Treasury backing worth up to £20 million, the Chancellor has said.

Rachel Reeves visited Southport on Saturday ahead of the Labour Party conference, which is taking place 18 miles away in ACC Liverpool.
