Liverpool will find out their group stage opponents in the Champions League when the draw commences on Thursday (August 25) and are tipped to be one of the main frontrunners ahead of this season's competition. Bookies Betfred have priced Jurgen Klopp's Reds at 6/1 - third favourites behind PSG on 11/2 and favourites Manchester City at 5/2.
The Reds missed out on a seventh Champions League title after losing to Real Madrid in Paris 1-0 with Carlo Ancelotti's side priced at 12/1 to successfully defend the trophy this year. This season's final venue will be a good omen to many Liverpool fans as the it is being held at Istanbul's Ataturk Olympic Stadium - the very venue which was used in the famous 2005 win when Rafa Benitez guided one of the greatest comebacks in football history.
Elsewhere, Man City will be keen to finally live up to the title as favourites at 5/2 for the European title with bookies continue to backing Pep Guardiola's side to lift the trophy for the first in the club's history. Surprisingly, Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain are tipped at 11/2 with the bookies but, despite a strong start under Christophe Galtier, they have been relatively underwhelming given the talent they have at their disposal in recent years.
The Premier League champions are in pot one along with European champions Real Madrid, Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt, AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Porto and Ajax. In pot two, along with the other Premier League sides, you have Barcelona, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and RB Leipzig.
Pot three includes Borussia Dortmund, Red Bull Salzburg, Shakhtar Donetsk, Inter Milan, Napoli, Benfica, Sporting Lisbon and Bayer Leverkusen. While pot four has Rangers, Celtic, Dinamo Zagreb, Marseille, Copenhagen, Club Brugge, Viktoria Plzen and Maccabi Haifa.
