'Champions League here we come' - Newcastle supporters hail Almiron's performance in Brighton win

Newcastle United supporters were over the moon as Eddie Howe's side took a giant step towards Champions League football with a 4-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion. A Deniz Undav own goal opened the scoring for the Magpies before Dan Burn added another in the first-half.

Undav halved the deficit after the break in a nervy second-half at St. James' Park with Brighton pushing for an equaliser. The Magpies could and should have been out of sight, but finally found the goal that would settle their nerves with Callum Wilson scoring in the 89th minute.

The Toon frontman turned provider for Bruno Guimaraes who added another in the 91st minute to wrap up a huge three points. The result means Eddie Howe's side need just one win from their games against Leicester City or Chelsea to ensure Champions League football returns to Tyneside.
