Chamba's Minzar fair: A perfect example of fusion of Ganga-Jamuni elements

CHAMBA: There are some instances of religious harmony in the country which not only stand out but also set a perfect example of unity in diversity.

The tradition of making and offering the first "minjar" (golden tassel) in Lord Luxmi Narayan and Lord Raghunath temples at the beginning of international fame Minzar fair by Chamba’s Mirza family sets a perfect example of coexistence and tolerance and has kept alive the Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb (syncretic fusion of Hindu and Muslim cultural and religious elements).
