Chamarajnagar, one of the backward districts in the State, will soon be getting a center for training youth in competitive examinations and a well-equipped library. The centre and the library will come up on the same premises.
M.inister in charge of Chamarajanagar district V. Somanna had told the officials in Chamarajnagar recently that the two facilities must be ready in a span of six months. Mr. Somanna, who held a meeting with officials on the development works in the district, had asked for submitting a proposal on the library to him soon for making it a reality in the shortest possible time.
In this regard, Mr Somanna held another meeting on the project with the officials from the State and the district at his office in Vidhana Soudha on Friday. He gave directions to them for immediately starting the process.
The centre will benefit those preparing for the civil services examinations, KAS examinations and other competitive examinations. The library building must have the infrastructure for the coaching centre and also a digital library for the use of those preparing for the examinations and the people of Chamarajanagar, Mr. Somanna said at the meeting.
The facility should also comprise a lecture hall for delivering lectures by resource persons and subject experts to help the candidates prepare for the examinations, he said, adding that all necessary facilities must be developed in the library-cum-coaching centre.
