Liverpool should have signed Brentford striker Ivan Toney instead of Darwin Nunez, Peterborough United chairman and Reds fan Darren MacAnthony has hinted.

Toney played for Peterborough and was the top goalscorer in League One before securing a move to Brentford and helping them gain promotion to the Premier League.

MacAnthony believes Toney would "score 25 goals" in this Liverpool side with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson delivering crosses to the striker.
