The subject of great modern Cincinnati Bengals players has come up in earnest recently thanks to some notable commentary from former Bengals running back Corey Dillon.
Dillon sparked an interesting debate by raising an issue with how the Bengals have handled their newly formed Ring of Honor over the past few years.
Now another modern great, wide receiver Chad Johnson, weighed in on the matter on social media.
Above a tweet from Sunday Night Football on NBC, Johnson said he shouldn’t be on a top-five list if Corey Dillon isn’t on it, too. As a whole, the list wasn’t that unreasonable:
Corey Dillon should be there instead of me https://t.co/QAvNEewHJJ

Bengals fans seem to more fondly remember Chad’s time with the team than Dillon’s, but that’s a product of many things, including team success, Dillon’s departure after his dominance and Chad, well, being Chad.
As it stands, fans probably have a few names they could substitute for any of the five listed there. What’s interesting is whether Chad, Dillon and/or somebody else makes the Ring of Honor this summer.
