Central Queensland woman refused bail after facing court over alleged Luke Combs ticket scam

A Central Queensland woman has been charged after allegedly scamming more than a dozen country music fans up to $3,500 each.

Moranbah woman Ashlee Jacqui Frost, 34, appeared in court this week after allegedly selling fraudulent tickets to one of US country music star Luke Combs' Brisbane shows in August next year.

Police have alleged the woman's 14 victims were as young as 18 years old.

The alleged victims were from locations throughout the country, including Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and the Northern Territory.

Police will allege a set of four tickets were sold for $3,500.

The woman has also been charged with fraud-related charges involving party-hire goods.

Acting on a complaint, detectives searched a Moranbah address on Friday and subsequently arrested the woman.

She was charged with 16 counts of fraud and was denied bail in Moranbah Magistrates Court on Monday.

She is next expected to appear on November 4.

Frustration over tickets

The alleged scam followed mass frustration with ticket company Ticketek, whose site experienced multiple crashes after AFL finals, NRL finals and Luke Combs tickets went on sale the same day.

Some people who missed out on tickets took to Twitter to vent their frustration, with many claiming they missed out due to site crashes.

One fan even started a change.org petition to encourage the country music singer to travel to Townsville to perform.

The petition has received more than 10,000 signatures.
