With the 2022 NBA All-Star Game in the rearview mirror and the stretch run and postseason beyond it creeping ever closer, Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens recently sat down for an interview with MassLive’s Brian Robb to talk about the substantial changes the team made at the trade deadline and the team’s turnaround on the court.
The two discussed a number of pertinent issues as the team gears up for a hopefully deep playoff run, integrating new players into the team while perhaps also looking for potential signees to boost the roster on the margins, along with an eye to what the team might have in store beyond the 2021-22 season.
Speaking on the issue of the fit of former San Antonio Spurs guard Derrick White and old friend Daniel Theis, the Celtics president downplayed that aspect of dealing for the duo Feb. 10. “I think the least of our concerns is fit,” explained Stevens. “The (fit) was pretty obvious.”
