As the Boston Celtics prepare for Game 1 of the NBA Finals with the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night in The Bay, they will have some good news on their side as they will for sure have the Defensive Player of the Year on the floor.
Marcus Smart, who has been dealing with nagging injuries to his right leg incusing his qua, ankle, and foot, is not listed on the injury report ahead of Game 1 with the Warriors. Boston is obviously a much better defensive team with Smart out on the floor and he will be a big help against Warriors star Stephen Curry.
While Smart is not on the injury report, Celtics big man Robert Williams III is on the report as he is questionable with his left knee soreness.

Robert Williams (left knee soreness) – QUESTIONABLE

If Williams III can’t go, Boston will have to rely more on smaller lineups led by Grant Williams and even Daniel Theis every once in a while. The important part is, Smart is good to go which will do wonders for the defense.
